TREKKING IN DARJEELING AND SIKKIM

Darjeeling Singlila Trek

This is a wonderful trekking offering the natural charms of the eastern himalayas. The trip starts from Mane Bhanjyang and ends in Bijanbari. The trek crosses several villages giving an opportunity to be in contact with the rural life. This trek is ideal for average walkers. The area is known for magnificent mountains, lush valleys, thick bamboo forest and the cultures so far maintained by different ethnic people living there.


Day 01	Flight to Biratnagar and drive to Siligudi. Overnight at hotel
Day 02	Drive to Darjeeling and afternoon sightseeing
Day 03	Sightseeing of Darjeeling
Day 04	Drive to Mane Bhanjyang and trek to Tonglu. Camp
Day 05	Trek from Tonglu to Sandakphu and camp
Day 06	Trek from Tonglu to Sandakphu and camp
Day 07	Trek from Phalut to Rammam and camp
Day 08	Trek from Rammam to Rimbik and camp
Day 09	Trek from Rimbik to Bijanbari and camp
Day 10	Drive to Darjeeling and stay at hotel.
Day 11	Drive to Siligudi and overnight
Day 12	Drive to Biratnagar and flight to Kathmandu. Transfer to hotel
Day 13	A day at leisure
Day 14	Departure transfer to airport

11 Nights /12 Days Dzongri Trek (Sikkim)

This trek begins from the trailhead at Yuksom passing through thickly forested ridges rich with flora and fauna to the altitude above the treeline of Dzongri (15,000ft) in the Kanchenjunga National Park. This is indeed one of the most spectacular treks in the entire Indian Himalayas

Day 01: Bagdogra - Gangtok
Pick up at Bagdogra airport/New Jalpaiguri railway station/ Bhadrapur airport (Nepal) and drive to Gangtok. 126 km. 5 hrs. Transfer to hotel. O/N at hotel

Day 02:Gangtok
Full day sightseeing in and around Gangtok and time to prepare for trekking permits. O/N at hotel

Day 03:Gangtok – Yuksom (1,780m)
After breakfast drive to Yuksom. 139 km, 6 hrs. Transfer to hotel & overnight at Yuksom

Day 04:Yuksom – Tsokha (3000 m)
Trek begins. Trek from Yuksom to Tsokha. 12 km, 6 hrs, O/N at camp

Day 05:Tsokha – Dzongri (4000m)
Trek from Tsokha to Dzongri, 9 km., 5 hrs. O/N at camp.

Day 06:Dzongri (4,500m)
Excursion of Dzongri. O/N at camp. (acclimatization)

Day 07:Dzongri - Dzongri La (4,500m)
Trek to Dzongri La. O/N at camp

Day 08:Dzongri - Tsokha
Trek back to Tsokha. O/N at camp

Day 09:Tsokha - Yuksom
Trek back from Tsokha to Yuksom, transfer to hotel. O/N at Yuksom.

Day 10:Yuksom - Darjeeling
Drive Yuksom to Darjeeling via Pelling. On the way visit Pemayangtse monastery. Transfer to hotel. O/N at hotel

Day 11:Darjeeling
Early morning visit Tiger Hill for sunrise view. On the way back visit Yiga Choling Monastery. After breakfast visit the Mountaineering Institute, Padmaja Zoological Park, Tibetan Self Help Center and a tea garden. O/N at hotel.

Day 12:Darjeeling - Bagdogra
Drive to Bagdogra for onward journey.

15 Nights/ 16 Days Rhododendron Trek (Sikkim)

This trek takes you through Darjeeling, its tea plantation and on to exciting Goecha-La (5000m) in Sikkim. Here you traverse at the base of Khangchendzonga (8585m). On this trek you walk through verdant tropical and alpine forests where a great variety of orchids and rhododendron and primuleas carpet the alpine terrain. The valleys are warm and one can expect temperatures around 35 0 C while night temperature drop below 0⁰C.

Day 01: Arrival Darjeeling

Transfer to Darjeeling (2134m) by surface 90 km-4 hrs drive. Overnight in hotel

Day 02: Full day sightseeing

At Darjeeling full day sightseeing-morning sunrise view from Tiger Hill, Ghoom Monastery, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and the Tibetan Self-Help Centre. Overnight in hotel.

Day 03: Drive to Pemayangtse (Sikkim)

Transfer to Pemayangtse (2085m)-118 km- 6 hours journey via Teesta valley and entering Sikkim via Melli. On arrival check into Hotel Mt. Pandim

Day 04: Drive to Yuksam (Sikkim)

Morning visit to the Pemayangtse and Sangacholing Monasteries. Drive to Yuksam (1780m) 43 km-2 hours drive. Overnight in camp.

Day 05: Trek Starts

Trek Yuksam to Tsokha (3048m)-16 km-5 hrs. lunch enroute at Praig. Overnight in trekkers huts/tents.

Day 06: Trek Continues

Trek up-hill Tsokha to Dzongri (4030m)-9 km- 3 to 4 hours with lunch at Phodong. Overnight in trekkers huts/tents.

Day 07: Trek Continues

Trek downhill Dzongri to Thangsing (3930m)-3 km (3 hours). Lunch at Phodong. Overnight in trekkers huts/tents.

Day 08: Trek Continues

Trek Thangsing to Lake Samiti (4500m)-3 km (1 ½ hours) easy walk. Lunch near the placid lake, Overnight in trekkers huts/tents.

Day 09: Trek Continues

Early morning trek up to Goecha La (5000m)-5 km uphill to get splendid views of the magnificent mountains. Return to Thangsing for overnight in camp.

Day 10: Trek Continues

Return trek Thangsing to Dzongri. Overnight in trekkers huts/tents.

Day 11: Trek Continues

Trek Dzongri to Bakhim (3005m)-10 km- 3 (3 ½ hours) easy walk. Overnight in Forest Log house/ tents.

Day 12: Trek Continues

From Bakhim trek down hill to Yuksom-11 km (3 to 4 hrs) walk. Overnight in trekkers huts/ tents.

Day 13: Rest day

At Yuksam leisure

Day 14: Drive to Gangtok

Transfer Yuksam to Gangtok (1780m)-123 km- (6 hours drive via Tashiding). Overnight in hotel

Day 15: Full day sightseeing in Gangtok

Gangtok full day sightseeing visiting Enchey and Rumtek monasteries, Govt. Institute of Tibetology. Overnight in hotel

Day 16: Final Departure

Departure for Bagdogra 124 km (5 hours drive) for onward destination
