Muktinath lies in north-center of Nepal at the elevation of 3800 m. The holy place is five days tour from Pokhara.
Muktinath is a pilgrimage site for both Buddhist and Hindu. Its main shrine is a pagoda-shaped temple dedicated to lord Bishnu. Behind the temple there are 108 waterspouts cast in the shape of cow headed pour holy water. Here lots of pilgrimages take bath from the ice-cold holy water. The Jwala Devi temple near by contains a spring and eternal holy flame fed by natural gas spewing out of the ground.
An auspicious combination of earth, fire, & water that is responsible for the religious importance of Muktinath.

Day 01 : Drive to Pokhara from Kathmandu 200 k.m. west by bus. And in the afternoon half day sight seeing in Pokhara city. |
Day 02 : Early morning take a 20 minutes flight to Jomsom and trek for two hours to Kagbeni and stay overnight there for acclimatization.
Afternoon we can walk around the small Kagbeni village which is medieval - looking village with Tibetan influence as closed as you can get to Lomangthang, the capital of the legendary Kingdom of Mustang further to the north. |
| Day 03 : Trekking to the Muktinath all the way is up hill. Takes about 6 hours. Lunch break on the way and overnight in Muktinath and do puja and take holy bath. |
| Day 04 : Early morning after breakfast start trek back to Jomsom and overnight there. |
| Day 05 : Early morning fly back to Pokhara and take a connection flight back to Kathmandu. |
