Choosing a trek :
There are countless long treks in Nepal, some of which still see only a handful of Western trekkers on the trail. Many of the previously off-limit areas have been opened up for trekkers in organized camping groups in the Upper Mustang, Upper Dolpo, Mansalu, Humla and the Kanchenjunga Base Camp areas in the north east of the country.
It is possible to do short treks in Nepal that do not have demanding altitudes nor need any
sophisticated equipments, years of experience and athletic stamina. The only thing you need is certain level of mental and physical fitness and sensible planning and preparation.
Six longer treks popular in Nepal are the Everest Base Camp, Helambu, Langtang, Jomsom, Annapurna Circuit and Annapurna Sanctuary treks.
|
| 1) Tea house: On the more popular treks in Nepal, enterprising villagers have built teahouse lodges. They are readily available in the Everest, Langtang and the entire Annapurna regions. The country offers a selection a teahouse treks run to high level of service.
2) Full boarded camping trek: This trek is assisted by a full Sherpa crew including a Sirdar (head man), cook and other helpers. Porters, Yaks, horses or mules are used for carrying lodges. It is the Sherpa's responsibility to perform all the camp works, including leaving all the sites clean and to guide on the route. Food available on the trek will be a mixture of Western and Asian dishes with variety of choice.
3) Tea house and Camping: on a few of our teahouse treks the crossing of high passes necessitates camping for a couple of nights. We provide full camping services for these nights and include four season sleeping bags.
