Dhampus peak, located in the Dhaulagiri range, is very popular amongst climbers. Although not a technical peak, it requires acclimatization prior to ascent. Thus, a trek to Thorang La pass (5416m) is advisable for the purpose. Alternatively one can fly from Pokhara to Jomsom (2250m) and make a side trip in the environs or trek from Nayapul all the way to Tukche (near Jomsom) via the Ghorepani Poon Hill area.
