Mt. Kailash is the famed holy peak revered by Hindus and Buddhists. It is the loveliest, highest and most lonesome places on the earth, Mt. Kailash, together with Lake Mansoravar, has been considered from ancient times to be the mythical abode of the gods. The 6,714 m mountain is revered as a place of immense divine power and the silence of the environment speaks itself volumes about the purity of the region, while the crystal clear azure blue lake is the source of four great rivers - the Indus, the Sutlej, the Brahmaputra and the Karnali.
