TOUR IN NEPAL
Central Nepal

Travel Information

  • Duration :
  • Grade :
  • 4 days

The Kathmandu Valley is the political and commercial hub of Nepal. It is situated at an altitude of 1336m above the sea level and covers an area of 218 sq miles. The rich tapestry of the cultural heritage of Nepal is synthesized in the Kathmandu valley, the home of the ancient and sophisticated Newari culture. The Newars are the indigenous inhabitants of the Kathmandu Valley.

The focal point of this short tour is the Kathmandu Valley, which will give visitors an in-depth look at the history and culture of the region. In effect one can walk back through the corridors of time by examining the unique architecture, wood craft and artwork of the Newars. Fine examples of these can be seen in the mediaeval city of Bhaktapur, a few miles outside Kathmandu proper.
