| This is an adventure trip for travelers on a limited time & budget. The breathtaking trans-Himalayan flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa & the overland route from Lhasa to Nepal border offers truly spectacular views of the Himalayas, high mountains passes, ancient monasteries, fortresses & a people & culture of a bygone era. The trip is scheduled fly in / drive out or drive in / fly out depending on situation. All the tours are based in 3 star hotel categories as per the interest & budget of the travelers (Deluxe, Economic, Budget). Day 01: |
(Tue/Sat) Airport transfer, and fly to Lhasa (3650 m), hotel transfer, and rest whole day for acclimatization. |
Day 02/03: |
Sightseeing at: Potala palace, Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery, the Norbulinka Palace, Jokhang temple Barkhor Market, etc. |
Day 04: |
Drive to Tsedang and stay en route visit to Samye Monastery |
Day 05: |
Sight seeing at Ymbulakang, Tandruk temple and Chong Gye monastery |
Day 06: |
Drive to Gyantse (3950 m) via Yamdrok lake and stay; Sight seeing at Palchor Chode and Kumbum monastery |
Day 07: |
Drive to Shigatse (3900 m) via Shalu and stay; Sight seeing: Tashilumpo monastery and local bazaar |
Day 08: |
Drive to Shegar (or Lhatse*) and stay |
Day 09: |
Drive to Zhangmu (or Nyalam*) and stay |
Day 10: |
Drive 8 km to Friendship bridge at Nepal/Tibet border and meet the Nepali guide and then drive to Kathmandu. |
Day 11: |
Free day in Kathmandu for shopping |
Day 12: |
Airport transfer for final departure |
