» 11 Nights / 12 Days Everest Base Camp Tour (Fly in / Fly out)

Everest Base Camp trek is the second popular trekking route in Tibet. Most of the time you walk on a plateau at an elevation 4300m crossing over Nam-la Pass (5300m). Because of the high-altitude trek it offers a splendid views of North face of Everest and other snowy mountain peaks around the Everest Base Camp. This trekking tour can be organized from April to late October. Our tour involves a few days sightseeing in Lhasa at first and some detour off the Friendship Hwy to Old Tingri to acclimatize before EBC trek begins.

Itinerary

Day 01: Chengdu/Beijing/Shanghai/Xian/Chongqin/Kunming flight to Lhasa
Arrival airport transfer to hotel. Rest of the time free. Overnight at Lhasa.

Day 02: Lhasa sightseeing
Sightseeing in Lhasa, visit Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple & Barkhor Market. Overnight at Lhasa.

Day 03: Lhasa sightseeing
Sightseeing in Lhasa, visit Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery. Overnight at Lhasa.

Day 04: Lhasa/ Yamdrok lake /Gyantse
Up to Kambala pass which is 4794m high, you will have a glimpse of Yamdrok-tso there. It is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet. Then drive back to chushul, along Nepal friendship way to Gyantse, visit the famous stupa - Gyantse Kumpum, the most stunning architectural wonder in Tibet. Overnight at Gyantse.

Day 05: Gyantse/ Shigatse /Old Tingri
Morning drive to Shigatse, about 90km from Gyantse. Visit Tashilunpo Monastery and the spectacular tombs of Panchen Lamas in Shigatse, then drive by Friendship Hwy to Old Tingri via Lhatse and Shegar. Guide will do preparations for the trek - hire yak porter and yaks. You may have a good view of Cho Oyu. Overnight at Old Tingri ( Local Guest house, dorm bed).

Day 06: Trek to Tsojan Village (4500m)
The elevation of Tsojan Village is 4500m and 4¨C5 hours of trekking is needed. The trek begins in Old Tingri and you pass through Lunja as your head south towards Everest in the distance. The high flat plain typical of Tibet allows for gradual elevation gains during the day. A water-powered barley mill is passed along the way.

Day 07: Trek to the beyond Nam- La Pass (5100 m)
The elevation of Nam- La Pass is 5100m and you will need 6 hours for trekking. As you continue up the valley. Everest disappears behind the mountains and as the trail turns to the southeast and begins to climb to the pass. Camping at the beyond Nam- La.

Day 08: Trek to Rongphu Monastery (4980 m)
We continue along the way towards the main road by passing Zemukh village that connects the main road and continue on to the Rongbuk Monastery. Overnight at Rongbuk Monastery

Day 09: Trek to EBC ( 5200 m)
Today you can have a good relax at Rongbuk, and then head up to EBC It only takes 2 hours hike to EBC from Rongbuk, you can stay overnight in EBC camp.

Day 10: EBC / Shigatse
After sunrise at EBC, we start driving back to Shigatse, you may have Xiqian hot-springs nearby Lhatse. Overnight in Shigatse.

Day 11: Shigatse / Lhasa
Drive back to Lhasa by friendship highway which takes about 4 hours. Afternoon we have a good rest in Lhasa. Overnight in Lhasa.

Day 12: Lhasa airport dropping off
Morning Airport dropping off, end the trip
